Hi, thanks for visiting. First ever blog (and that’s just to tell you about me) so here we go…
Grew up thinking why doesn’t someone develop something to solve… etc. Finally I grew up enough to realise it doesn’t have to be someone else that I have to wait for. A guy I worked with a while back had a saying that “if it is to be it is up to me” – thanks Chris – it finally sunk in.
I hate seeing plastic bottles everywhere I go, littering the roads, countryside, beaches, rivers and you get the idea. I also hate the inequity that I’ve been exposed to in a corporate life where I managed to make it up the ladder, only to find the ladder was leaning against the wrong wall.
So, “if it is to be etc” – my business [founded in February 2006] is called Just Drinking Water [justdrinkingwater.com] and the ‘just’ dimension relates to my ideology. We’re changing the way the world drinks portable water, by introducing a paper carton that actually works as a viable alternative, and a water brand that’s so naturally pure, it’s suitable for babies and people on macrobiotic diets .
Our brand is called Aquapax – check us out on google or whatever other search engine you use – better still, ask for Aquapax if you currently drink plastic or glass bottled water and believe you’re doing this because of the purity.
You might be surprised at what decent quality natural mineral water tastes like [nothing or air are the usual descriptions] and if you’re still happy to buy portable water rather than carry a flask of tap water around with you like a true environmentalist should [we agree it's too much hassle in a convenience based world] then buy Aquapax (please).
Right, that’s my first ever blog (if an about page classifies) so now to ponder on what to say to whoever might read this. Strange concept blogging if you think about it…
Keep smilling – I find it immensely helpful.

As a fellow member of the IoD, working within the Recycling industry, designing concepts for MRF’s and machinery I congratulate you on what I am sure will be a most successful business venture.
It has been too long waiting for someone to reduce the prevalent reliance upon oil based packaging. It takes a certain type of person to go against the flow, a little like a returning salmon fighting the downhill water flow.
Every success and I await the day the Aquapax is available within the geographic region of the midlands, a day for which I hope I will not have to wait to long.
how’s it going? its Annie from Sussex University & the Enterprise Thursdays team! so where is that inspirational video you played in the beginning of your talk in autumn 2008?
Hi Annie, good to hear from you. The link is on the right in my ‘blogroll’ – the video is called ‘did you know’. The version I showed was tailored to the students at Sussex Uni, but the essence is on the link videos and by linking people to the original, I give copyright credit where it’s due.
Best wishes
Neil
